What we collect and why
When you request a risk review we collect your name, role, email, mobile, preferred contact method and the answers you give about your business. We use it only to prepare and deliver your register and to contact you about it.
Employee data processed as operator
Where we deliver the service to a client, the client remains the responsible party for its employees' personal information and we act as operator on the client's written instruction under a POPIA operator agreement. We process only what is needed to run payroll, compliance, performance, careers and hiring; we apply the security safeguards required by section 19; we notify the client of any compromise without undue delay; and we return or delete the data on termination. Work-tool signals are used only with consent. We never access personal devices.
Sharing
We share personal information only with sub-operators and professional advisers needed to deliver the service, each under written confidentiality and security terms, and with regulators where the law requires it.
Retention
We keep records for the statutory retention periods that apply to employment and payroll records, and no longer than needed for the purpose collected.
Your rights
You may ask us what we hold, ask for correction or deletion, object to processing and withdraw consent, by emailing hello@maclan.co.za. You may also complain to the Information Regulator of South Africa.
